Have you renewed for 2008? Teachers must renew their registration every five years. March 31 2008 is the deadline for renewal of registration for teachers who were first registered on 1 January 2003. This year you have to do more than just pay the annual fee. If you intend to keep teaching but have not yet renewed your registration, you must act before the deadline. Not sure of your status? - If you have a 2008 registration card from the Victorian Institute of Teaching or a 2007 card with an ‘Expiry Date’ after 31/03/08, your registration is current and no action is required.
- If you do not have a current card, it is possible to check your status through vitonline at your school or contact the VIT.
- If you are not currently working in a school and you want to maintain your registration, contact the Institute.
Your registration will expire if you have not renewed your registration by 31 March 2008. After that, if you wish to continue to teach in a Victorian school, you will need to reapply for registration, provide all the documents required and pay the application fee as well as the annual fee. Please note that if you are less than four-year qualified you will not meet the current registration requirements so you may only be eligible for permission to teach.
