ESS Conference - Grow: Self Work Community

This Conference concentrates on issues specific to ESS staff. Facilitators and presenters are experts in their fields and topics covered are a mix of the 'personal and professional'. The timing of the Conference coincides with 'ESS week', a time when schools celebrate and promote the contribution of ESS members. The Conference brochure is available here.

Working with students with special needs (1)

This seminar will focus on the ways in which teacher aides, integration aides and other related staff can effectively support students with disabilities in the classroom. It will examine how to encourage independence in learning, motivation of poor learners and the development of confidence and capability in students.

Advanced Skills in communication

Dr Trinidad Hunt will present this innovative training, enabling participants to discover their communication style and learn to adapt to the style of others. This training will build on the communication seminar Dr Hunt has presented in previous years, but is also highly relevant to 'first timers'.

Managing difficult behaviours

Education Support Staff have regular interactions with the full array of personnel in a school. Whether this contact occurs in the classroom, library, laboratory or front office it can at times be challenging. This training will provide strategies on how to optimise your positive relationships and best manage the difficult ones.

This training provides you with information and skill development to enable you to plan, enjoy and control your career. This seminar is aimed at all school staff who are considering the next move in their career. It will include information on careers and work, networking, CV writing and interview skills.
