Beginning Teacher Conference: First Class
Practical, useful and relevant, this conference is open to all teachers in the first three years of their career.
The conference consists of a keynote presentation and a series of workshops specifically designed for beginning teachers. Workshops offered will provide a choice for participants in primary and secondary streams.
Topics covered on the day will include:
- Maximising the power of the classroom relationship
- Effective communication with parents
- Student management
- Legal issues
The First Class conference brochure, here, details the workshops based on feedback from our members and graduate teacher network. Participants will attend two workshops as well as the keynote address.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming Learning and Communication Styles:
Use NLP to enhance student comprehension and effectiveness
One of the most challenging situations we face is how to reach the students of this generation. In this experiential training by Dr Trinidad Hunt, participants will discover their own learning and communication style and learn t analyse the style differences of their students.
Trinidad has taught many students these skills, and participants will be able to duplicate the training in their classroom. Participants will also receive a student inventory to be used for student self-assessment, study and discussion in the classroom.

Managing your career: CV writing and interview skills
This training provides you with information and skill development to enable you to plan, enjoy and control your career. This seminar is aimed at all staff in schools. It will include information on careers and work, networking, CV writing and interview skills. Please note that places are strictly limited.

Activities to enliven your classroom
Teachers consistently ask Dr Trinidad Hunt for activities to enliven the classroom experience for their students.
From storyboards to listening, from interpersonal activities to team math and science challenges, participants will walk away with a number of experiential learning exercises to keep students active, engaged and learning.
