Introduction

This section will provide a brief overview of working conditions in the Non-Government education sector in Victoria.

In the meantime, there are two basic rules for members to remember: 
Don't Sign and Don't Resign.

• Don't Sign: If you are given a letter of appointment, a letter asking you to agree to changes in your conditions of employment or salary, or any other written communication affecting your employment which you are asked to sign, you should contact the union office immediately for advice before signing.
• Don't Resign: You should never resign from your position because you are being pressured to do so, because you have been placed on due process, or out of anger or frustration. You should always contact the union office to seek advice and to talk through your options.
