National Professional Teaching Standards – draft for consultation       

The Ministerial Council for Education, Early Childhood Development and Youth Affairs (MCEECDYA) has released Draft National Teaching Standards for consultation. The Standards and response form are available on the MCEEDYA website

VIEU members are encouraged to examine the standards framework and make a response by the closing date of 21 May 2010. The National Teaching Standards will become part of the nationally consistent teacher registration process and will replace the Teaching Standards currently in place for Victorian Teachers (see VIT). It is intended that the higher standards will be part of an awards program for teachers. VIEU’s response will be available shortly on this website.
